Bukowski

“The nine-to-five is one of the greatest atrocities sprung upon mankind. You give your life away to a function that doesn’t interest you. This situation so repelled me that I was driven to drink, starvation, and mad females, simply as an alternative.”

-Charles Bukowski

Godard. Go Figure.

“I think we’re always responsible for our actions. We’re free. I raise my hand – I’m responsible. I turn my head to the right – I’m responsible. I’m unhappy – I’m responsible. I smoke a cigarette – I’m responsible. I shut my eyes – I’m responsible. I forget that I’m responsible, but I am. I told you escape is a pipe dream. After all, everything is beautiful. You only have to take an interest in things, see their beauty. It’s true. After all, things are just what they are. A face is a face. Plates are plates. Men are men. And life…is life.”

Hello all,

As some of you know I have been in New York the past couple of months making visits and checking things out. It has been a pleasure finally getting to meet some of you guys in person after all of the emails and phone calls. I’ve had quite the time in New York since I’ve been here and as such will be making my stay permanent. I of course am happy to go down to New Orleans for shoots but, I am now officially based in New York City. Anyone in the city interested in taking a look at some work in person please do get in touch.

My brother from another mother

Oh Thoreau!

“I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.”

“You know about a person who deeply interests you more than you can be told. A look, a gesture, an act, which to everybody else is insignificant tells you more about that one than words can.”

New Orleans Redux

Just when I thought I was out of there I had to go right back home.  Spent the last week in New Orleans working on a shoot for The Red Bulletin(Red Bull) and watching my sister get married.  Back in New York now relaxing and recuperating.

Do More. Talk Less.

Just finished watching Rear Window.  This shit is on the money!  A couple choice excerpts from a scene in the beginning of the movie.

STELLA TO MR. JEFFRIES

“Look, Mr. Jefferies. I’m not educated.   I’m not even sophisticated. But I can tell you this — when a man and a woman see each other, and like each other — they should come together — wham like two taxies on Broadway. Not sit around studying each other like specimens in at bottle.”

“Baloney! Once it was see somebody, get excited, get married — Now, it’s read books, fence with four syllable words, psychoanalyze each other until you can’t tell a petting party from a civil service exam”

“When I married Myles, we were both maladjusted misfits. We still are. And we’ve loved every minute of it.”
